I was privileged to meet Mirel Iliesiu's wife, Lidia, in Wilmington, Delaware. She was a dear friend of my mother. In her room, she had all kinds of interesting trinkets and artsy items, and on a side table with other souvenirs sat the Palme d'Or! Needless to say I had never seen one before, but she was pleased that I guessed what it was. She spoke a little about her husband but was still grieving his loss deeply.
